Antigua & Barbuda & Crypto Currency

While Ayre’s official title is “Special Economic Envoy,” his responsibilities will be entirely in the crypto-sphere, including economic cooperation and commerce.

AntiguaBarbudaShieldCanadian Calvin Ayre is continuing the hot streak he’s been on in recent months. If you remember, the online casino legend and flamboyant playboy billionaire has had plenty of cause to celebrate recently.

Last month, he came out triumphant from his years long standoff with the US Department of Justice by having felony charges stemming from his offering of online games to US clients dropped.

It’s pretty hard to top that. But you gotta give Ayre credit for at least trying; this month he was given a role in the government of Antigua & Barbuda:

Antigua & Barbuda & Crypto Currency

That being said, the move is not as crazy as it might seem at first.

For Canadians who may not know, Antigua & Barbuda is a small but sovereign island nation nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s also one of the most proactive and progressive governments in the world when it comes to welcoming the online casino industry.

And – most importantly – it’s also a place where Ayre has already played a huge part in that success. The country was one of his favorite places to operate from while building his online gaming empire. In 1999 alone, his operations were responsible for bringing in $100 million to the small island nation and employing more than 2,000 people in the process.

That’s why Ayre has been specifically brought in to help with the rapidly developing blockchain changes.

Right now, there is no more proactive and interesting development in the online casino world than blockchain technology; Antigua & Barbuda is counting on his expertise to keep it ahead of the pack in the coming years.

“Special Economic Envoy”

To that end, while Ayre’s official title is “Special Economic Envoy,” his responsibilities will be entirely in the crypto-sphere, including economic cooperation and commerce.

As the blockchain becomes more and more integrated into online casino culture, the future will belong to those governments who are being best advised on how to leverage it for their own benefit. With Ayre’s proven experience in being one step ahead of the competition throughout his career, this move seems like a no-brainer for Antigua & Barbuda.
