IGT Awarded First Ever G4 Responsible Gaming Certification

IGT has proven its commitment to responsible gaming by integrating features that minimize harm and prevent problem gambling.

International Game Technology (IGT) is the first gaming provider to obtain the Global Gambling Guidance Group’s (G4) Responsible Gaming Certification. The invaluable accreditation was granted for IGT’s land-based and lottery divisions as well.

“IGT partners with gaming operators around the world to provide innovative technology and services, and it’s our responsibility to create solutions that help our customer protect their players. IGT prides itself as an industry pioneer, and the G4 certification allows us to transparently demonstrate our leadership in the important topic,” said CEO of IGT, North America Gaming and Interactive, Renato Ascoli.

G4 lists as its primary goal minimising the effect of problem gambling by means of advocating a global accreditation programme for both suppliers and operators.

Before granting certification, G4 independently evaluates companies in order to verify that they abide by their requirements of supplying the relevant gaming tools on gaming systems. These may involve back office monitoring, session limits, budget setting suggestions, treatment referrals, and self-assessment tests. In addition, the group may asses game screen reality checks such as time clocks, stake amounts, or reminders about how much money and time have been invested.

According to Pieter Remmers, a member of the G4 Board of Directors, IGT has successfully proven its commitment to responsible gaming by integrating effective features in its products that assist operators with minimizing harm and preventing problem gambling.

G4 has an extensive experience of working with gaming industry across the world so as to promote responsible playing practices and lower the harmful effects caused by problem gambling. The renowned group offers a wide range of programmes for land-based and online gambling companies, and, in addition, conduct face-to-face counseling services for players with risky playing tendencies.
