British Columbia Welcome NetEnt to Canadian iGaming
The Canadian gaming industry has come a long way in the last year or so, with continual developments taking place on a monthly basis. Indeed, it seems like you can’t go a week without hearing news of some sort of development or project in the works. In fact, provincial gambling has taken a front-row seat across Canada in the past couple of years. Indeed, we have seen recent stories concerning things like OLG being in talks over a prospective Toronto waterfront casino. Things like this have been happening fairly regularly across the country. But, this week we have had a much more influential development and one that will impact gambling in the whole country. It has been reported this week that global gaming giants NetEnt have entered the Canadian iGaming market This is massive news for the country and is definitely going to see another big player in the world of slots gaming, something already massively popular with Canadian gamblers. In fact, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation has teamed up with NetEnt for a diverse portfolio of titles, and they have integrated the platform with the help of International Game Technology (IGT). NetEnt have been wanting to increase their influence on the Canadian market for some time now, and this is the perfect time for them to get into the sector. NetEnt chief executive Therese Hillman spoke of the company’s delight at these developments, and she claimed, “Launching our games to players in British Columbia is an important milestone for us in our North American expansion.” It is clear that this is going to have hugely beneficial impacts for the province, and that it will improve gambling in B.C. in the future. This could also open the door for similar relationships to develop between NetEnt and other provinces, not to mention new suppliers who are looking to crack the Canadian gambling market. This means that the historical partnership will make NetEnt titles available to play across the province immediately. There are plenty of excellent slots to choose from, specifically their latest slot Double Stacks, as well as other internationally popular titles, including Starburst and Gonzo’s Quest. In addition to entering the regulated market in Canada, NetEnt clearly has big plans for expansion. They have also entered the market in Lithuania in a bid to try to make sure they gain a tighter grip on the European market as well. This is a partnership that is definitely going to be mutually beneficial to both organisations and will help improve NetEnt’s presence and reputation in the world of Canadian gambling. BCLC will be hoping that this partnership still allows them to boost their stance on responsible gambling and that they can make the right decisions for customers moving forward. With news reports from earlier this summer that NetEnt made three millionaires back in July, gamblers across B.C. will be hoping that they are the next to benefit from this highly-anticipated partnership.
