Cascades Casino Chatham to Open in Less than a Week
The final preparations for the grand opening are slowly coming to an end, and Cascades Casino Chatham will welcome its first patrons on the venue’s soft launch celebration party on July 16.
The management has invited all the members of the community to visit the location and enjoy the family-friendly set-up.
Pregaming for the Hard Launch on August 8
The official ceremony will actually take place the following month, marking the completion of the year-long construction works. The cost of the operator’s vision of introducing a premium gambling facility with state-of-the-art equipment and diverse casino gaming selection was estimated at CA$36 million – a mind-spinning amount, yet, a midrange project considering the annual revenue of Gateway Casinos.
Gambling premises are only one part of the entire infrastructure and the operator’s primary goal was to build a resort which can accommodate everyone’s needs, instead of simply targeting specific demographics. The site will host a range of restaurants, bars, entertainment centers, etc.
What to Expect?
As July 16 is slowly approaching, certain details are being revealed to the general public, although the management is still trying to keep the main attractions a secret. The operating hours have been disclosed and the casino floor will be working around the clock. The facility will have the capacity to welcome over 900 visitors, who will be able to enjoy around 10 casino and blackjack tables, 300+ gaming machines, and other conformities across 45,000 sq/ft. Some of the equipment will be transported from Dresden Raceway, but most of the gaming machines will be brand new.
Interestingly enough, the site dedicates the same square footage of space to casino patrons and visitors with children; the two buildings have identical dimensions, reflecting the operator’s objective of creating an all-inclusive resort.
Unlike Point Edward and Hanover which were merely renovated, the Cascades Casino Chatham development is an entirely new project, built from scratch, which makes it even more impressive. Only 12 months ago, the site was no more than an empty patch of land and come August 8 the residents of the area will have a large-scale entertainment menagerie at their disposal day and night.
More To Come
Two more projects are lined up, as Gateway Casinos is currently eyeing suitable locations in Kenora after confirming the purchase of Pinewood Park Drive land. The constructions will start as soon as the company acquires all the necessary approvals. According to some predictions, the North Bay venue should be open for business by 2020.
