Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Boasts More than 8,500 Employees
There is no question that Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is perhaps the biggest name in the Canadian gambling industry. This is an area that has seen so much growth and development over the past few years, and Gateway has become a pivotal player in that growth. Indeed, the company is one of the leading figures in the Canadian casino sector, and only looks to be growing from strength to strength.
It’s has been a really positive 2019, and end to 2018, for Gateway, as they look to grow their empire significantly. We had news break this week that the company’s latest expansion move has seen its staffing numbers swell to 8,648, in addition to the growth acquisition of Casino Innisfil. This is following the move by Gateway to secure brand new casino development projects and partnerships. Indeed, recently Gateway has just Chances Signal Point casino in British Columbia, as they seek to become a major player in North American gambling.
It is an acquisition the Gateway team is clearly pleased about, with CEO Tony Santo describing the feelings toward the acquisition. “Everyone at Gateway is very excited to welcome Chances Signal Point and their team to the Gateway family. We look forward to bringing our unique entertainment offerings to Williams Lake.” This is a big development for the company, and one that they can benefit from significantly moving forward.
However, it is worth keeping in mind that it hasn’t always been such smooth sailing for Gateway. In fact, the company had to deal with a pretty tumultuous 2018, and this is something that could have derailed the company. One of the major factors threatening to derail the company was the strike action taken by Gateway employees across B.C. following contract disputes. This went on for several months, and could have gotten very ugly. Luckily, this is something that was sorted out eventually and Gateway was able to get back to business.
As a result of this, we could well see a positive change in the way Gateway progresses, as well as the way they choose to treat their staff. And, not they have grown their number of employees so much, this is something that requires a bit of focus. Making sure there are fair and attractive contracts for all these employees is something that matters a lot, and can make a big difference when it comes to attracting more people.
This is one of the reasons why Gateway has become a more attractive prospect over the past few months. Things seem to be going well for the casino giants as of late, and they announced that a recent development site will be expected sooner than planned. This gives Gateway another string to their bow, creating even more jobs, and growing their empire even further.
With Gateway’s purchase of Chances Signal Point, the company is certainly showing no signs of slowing down, and this is something that will please a lot of people. With the amount of economic benefit generated by Gateway casinos, it seems pretty clear that most areas would thrive from this.
