GVC’s Purchase of Ladbrokes Finalized
GVC has finalized the details of its purchase of Ladbrokes, the company said in a statement released to its corporate website. The deal between the two online casino powerhouses is widely expected to shake up the industry in unprecedented and unpredictable ways.
In the statement, GVC for the first time gave a detailed accounting of the reasoning behind the decision to acquire Ladbrokes, as well as its expectations for the future of the enlarged company.
A Market Leader In All The Right Places
Much of the excitement surrounding the deal comes from a simple reality — the new company will be the market leader in the three largest European markets: UK, Germany, and Italy.
With access to so many customers, the group will now be able to take all of the creative knowhow GVC is legendary for and put it to maximum use. Another key aspect of the deal is the meeting of the minds that will occur between some of the most talented employees in the industry.
With so many resources available to them, there’s little doubt that the new group is poised to take the online casino world by storm moving forward.
“The Acquisition will allow the Enlarged Group to bring together some of the industry’s leading talent across all key aspects of the gaming business, including product verticals, distribution platforms, technology and marketing,” the statement said.
A New Omni-Channel & Omni-Market Approach
High on the list of the capabilities of the merger this talent will have available to it is what can only be termed its “omni-presence”.
The company will be able to use Ladbrokes’ industry leading distribution channels — especially in mobile — to increase the availability and attractiveness of their products in all of them.
“With expertise and scale across all distribution channels (online, retail and mobile) and ownership of its market-leading technology, the Enlarged Group will have the ability to increase further its customer base and continue to build leading positions in existing and new markets,” the statement said.
Can Anyone Keep Up?
Together, it’s clear the new group will be a powerhouse of capabilities and opportunities. GVC’s current assets already had an international presence nearly unmatched by any other online gaming company. Ladbrokes can now deliver its omni-channel products to all of them.
Which begs the question: who else can keep up? Undoubtedly, there will be fierce competition. But everyone else in the industry now has their work cut out for them.
