iGaming Remains Popular Across Canada

We know that there is a massive casino industry developing across Canada, but it is also true that there is a huge growth in the online gambling market as well. Indeed, earlier this year we looked at the continued growth of online gambling in Canada, and how much this might have been affecting the bricks and mortar casinos in provinces across the country.

While the land-based casinos in the country still seem to be doing well, it is also clear that the online gambling industry is hugely successful across Canada these days as well. This has perhaps been buoyed by the recent money-laundering issues and new rulings affecting modern casinos these days. Furthermore, it is important for players to be able to have that balance between the two to really give them the full gaming experience.

Well, since then it seems that online casino gaming has grown in popularity across the country. For instance, there was a recent news story about electronic bingo being introduced to Canada for the first time, thanks to a partnership between the OLG and the IGT. Indeed, But, it’s not just things like e-bingo that have helped popularity grow; in fact, technology in general has revolutionised gambling all across Canada in recent times.

The fact that online gambling offers more efficiency, and a better selection of games, has made it much more popular for gamblers. While sports betting in Canada still remains a touchy subject, iGaming allows players to have a more complete gambling experience.

For many Canadian gamblers, online gambling represents the new and improved way for them to play. There are obvious benefits, and this is something that is growing in popularity in the country. Online gambling allows people to sample their favourite games, no matter where they are in the country at the time.

And, it’s not just gambling that has exploded in the online sense either. Ubisoft Canada recently announced plans to achieve rapid player growth as well. The video game company wants to expand its number of players to around 200 million by the year 2025, and believes this to be more than achievable. CEO Yannis Mallat claimed, “We are in a very interesting time for the industry… especially in Quebec, but the market has been changing quite drastically and so have we.”  This certainly shows how far the digital scope goes, and what an influence it has on modern gaming.

It’s pretty clear that the online gambling industry is one that more and more Canadians are beginning to warm to, and this is something that could see exciting growth over the next few years. We might also see a scenario in which land-based casinos make the decisions to partner with online suppliers and companies in some way, and this is important for the future. With modern gamblers demanding instant access to seamless top-of-the-range games, the onus is more and more on the suppliers/casinos to ensure that they are an attractive prospect to gamblers.
