NetEnt is Coming to British Columbia
One of the leading names in the online gambling industry, NetEnt has finally been granted a supplier license from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).
What Does That Mean?
The long-awaited decision made by the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch of the BLCL will allow the Sweden-based company to supply its content to clients in this Canadian province.
Of course, this will be done via BCLC, which is the only licensed operator in the fifth largest province in Canada.
The decision wasn’t a surprise since it was expected that NetEnt would receive the license, but the speed with which it was granted astounded the people from the company. NetEnt applied for the license back in October.
Per Eriksson, the NetEnt’s President and Chief Executive Officer, was ecstatic with the latest move, which would see the company enter one of the highly competitive markets in North America.
Eriksson pointed out the fact NetEnt was the online casino supplier with the largest presence on regulated markets and added the presence in British Columbia was of utmost importance to the company.
NetEnt is increasing its presence in North America and the latest news confirm this strategy. BCLC license follows the recent enter on the Mexican market, where NetEnt operates through Spanish multinational company Codere.
Recently revealed data shows the company’s revenue in the first quarter of the year rose by 15.2%, while during the same period, operating profit rose by 6.3%
The Future is Looking Great
NetEnt was founded in 1996 and since then it earned a reputation for being on the forefront of the industry.
The proof of this statement came at last year’s’ ICE Totally Gaming, where the company announced the first ever VR slot, while the demo was shown on the 2017 event.
With over 700 employees, more than 100 operators on their client list, and with 200 thrilling games in the company’s portfolio, NetEnt continues to lead the way in the ever-growing online gambling industry.
