New High-Stakes Tables Available On World Series of Poker App
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has launched new high-stakes tables on its mobile app.
Poker has had a surge in popularity in the last decade or so. The game, in one of its many forms, has grown rapidly in person but especially online. Poker sites continue to attract millions of players with many online casinos also offering their own online poker game titles.
This growth has also been felt in person. Physical tournaments have become hugely popular with the World Series of Poker chief amongst them. 2019 saw players descend on Las Vegas for the 50th edition of the popular tournament.
Now, players won’t have to travel to Nevada to get a slice of the action. The World Series of Poker has launched new high-stakes tables on its mobile app with a grand prize of $120 million.
There are two versions of the app’s Montreal Tournament. The Classic edition has a grand prize of $45 million but it’s the Express Montreal Tournament which has the $120 million on offer. There is even a WSOP ring available for players who win 15 Classic tournaments or just 5 of the Express version.
How to enter the new WSOP app tournaments?
There are a number of different paths into entering these tournaments. Naturally, high-stakes tables have high-stakes entry fees. Players can choose to grind their way up the rankings on the app by playing and winning a number of smaller and less-important tournaments and games.
However, there is an alternative. Players can just buy in-game chips with real money. You can get $7.5 million in-game chips for $6 or as much as $630 million chips for $100 cash.
This seems like a shrewd investment considering the prizes awaiting the winners of these new tournaments. The player base for online poker has grown remarkably and so has the prize money on offer. These new tournaments on the WSOP app are proof of that. Stay tuned for more updates on whether other casinos and sites follow suit and start offering up huge sums of money for online poker!
